We’re excited to launch our Christmas campaign ‘Kent Crispmas’ which sees us team up with 10 Kent Vineyards, pairing our crisps with a local English wine.
This year the crisp and wine pairing trend has taken off, following sommeliers online sharing their favourite savoury snacks, pairing them with a variety of different wine to compliment the flavours. Retailers have been quick to follow, helping customers create the ultimate night in with expert tips for the best pairings.
The Kent Crispmas campaign aims to showcase some of the best producers in the county, putting Kent on the map as an area known for great food and high-quality English wine to rival European counterparts, driving awareness with consumers over the festive period to encourage them to shop local and support independent producers this Christmas.
We sought advice from a Sommelier to inform our pairings. Vineyards participating include some brands such as Yotes Court, Simpson’s and Westwell, and some smaller producers such as Brissenden, Brabourne and Myatt’s of Mockbegger.
Laura Bounds MBE, owner of Kent Crisps explains “The Kent Crisps ethos has always been to showcase the best producers in the county and boost tourism to the local area. We’re incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by vineyards and wine producers making outstanding wine right here in Kent, so it made perfect sense for us to pair our crisps with wine from the local area.’
‘The beauty of the crisp, dip and wine pairing trend is that you don’t need to overthink it, and anyone can do it at home. You can be as simple or as decadent as you like and it’s a relatively affordable option to explore new flavours and local wines, especially as you host friends and family over the festive period.”
Helen Power, Marketing and Communication Manager at Simpson’s Wine Estate says “The ‘Kent Crispmas’ campaign is a great concept – we are thrilled to be part of it and to inspire people to celebrate together this festive season. Kent is an ideal location for vineyards to thrive, which is why we established our Estate here in 2012. It is exciting to see the English wine industry achieving great success in terms of growth and quality. We are experiencing increased interest in our wines and tours, not just from a UK audience but at an international level too. This campaign helps to highlight viticulture in Kent, whilst encouraging people to try something new from the local region.”
The campaign launched on Instagram on 12 December 2024 and can be followed online and via our social media channels and campaign page on our website until Christmas Eve.
